Nosy Means Island

Did you know that the word “nosy” means “island” in Malagasy? That’s the language many people speak in Madagascar. When I got to our first stop in Ambanja, I realized there lots of small islands that are not too hard to get to! Nosy Be is the Big Island, Nosy Komba is Lemur Island, and Nosy Hara is the Coral Island. I found some pretty neat stuff there.

Check out this map. You can’t see Nosy Hara, because it’s so small right near the very tip of Madagascar and I don’t think the name fit, but can you spot Nosy Be?
